Founded in 2011, the Theatre Department strives to continuously improve. Through their effort, the department hopes to surprise and excite their audiences.  Lead theatre instructor, Roberta Eberhard allows students to think creatively, “I think of my students as an extension of my family. I hold them to a high standard and want the best for them. I fully recognize that we work better when I incorporate their ideas into my own vision for a show.” Through theatre class, students learn self-confidence, imagination, empathy and tolerance, cooperation/collaboration, concentration, problem-solving, trust, social awareness, and of course, communication skills. “It takes a special kind of person,” she adds, “to get on stage in front of their peers and be bold enough to act differently than what their friends expect.

To be brave enough to acknowledge and to be proud of your accomplishments is a beautiful thing. I hope my students never forget that each and every practice and performance is an act of worship to their Creator.” Each show features exciting choreography, challenging music, relatable characters, and imaginative sets and costumes. We’ve accomplished a lot since our inception. The productions have been self-sustaining from the beginning, and that is largely due to my faithful volunteers and parental involvement. They take my crazy ideas and help to make them a reality.

It takes a special kind of person to get on stage in front of their peers and be bold enough to act differently than what their friends expect. To be brave enough to acknowledge and to be proud of your accomplishments is a beautiful thing.
