We were all shocked and saddened by what happened at the Christian school in Nashville, as three innocent young students and three staff were shot and killed during the school day. Our hearts and prayers go out to the students and families who have been forever affected by this violence. This tragedy has given us time to pause, pray, and think about security here at. Rejoice. Obviously, our greatest protection is our trust in the hand of the Lord. Deuteronomy 31:6
Let me first say we also have an excellent armed security staff that is prepared to defend and protect our school during any contingency. They are trained and equipped to ensure the safety of everyone here at Rejoice Christian School. As we learned more about what happened in Nashville, a discussion turned into a decision to lift our existing robust security to an even higher level. Our priorities include:
● Added protection for our doors and windows $165,000
● Protective security vests and additional equipment for our officers $18,236
● Installation of gates to limit access to our property $135,000
● Construction of a security booth at our main entrance $200,000

Each of these items will increase the safety and security of our students and staff. Since last month, generous donors have already contributed over $50,000 to these needs! The cost of the total package will be $518,236. We would like to begin implementing these measures this summer.
